Super Saiyan, also known as Super Saiya, Super Saiyan 1 (超 (スーパー) サイヤ人 (じん) 1 (ワン) , Sūpā Saiya-jin Wan^?), Super Saiyan 1st Grade (超 (スーパー) サイヤ人 (じん) 第1 (だいいち) 段階 (だんかい) , Sūpā Saiya-jin Dai-Ichi Dankai^?), and abbreviated as SS and SS1, is the legendary transformation of the Saiyans.

Appearance

The Saiyan's physical appearance changes while transformed into the legendary form. The Saiyans' hair becomes golden and becomes spikier, and the Saiyans' irises become emerald green. The aura of the Saiyans' also becomes golden along with the golden hair. However, due to built-up anger, a Saiyan's physical appearance can drastically change from the normal transformation in the original form of the Saiyans. The Saiyan's physique becomes more muscular and the hair becomes a lime-green color.
