Papoi and the South Kaioh visited the North Kaioh while Son Goku was training with weights on Heaven (Papoi was not present in the manga.) The South Kaioh introduced Papoi to the North Kaioh, so the North Kaioh invited Papoi to participate a tournament on Earth. However, when the South Kaioh changed Goku's two-ton weights to ten tons, Goku was able to move while transformed into Super Saiyan, causing the South Kaioh to have Papoi participate in the tournament.[1][2][3]
